Cold Forming Ball Screw FB Series
A series that achieves high strength through plastic processing without cutting the metal structure.
The FB series has a higher strength of the ball transfer surface on the screw shaft and excellent wear resistance compared to ground ball screws. Ground ball screws are typically formed through cutting and grinding processes, which improve the shape accuracy and surface roughness of the ball rolling surface. In contrast, the FB series forms the screw groove of the screw shaft through cold plastic processing, shaping the ball transfer surface. The surface layer of the plastically deformed screw groove has a metal structure that aligns with the shape of the ball rolling surface, resulting in a denser metal structure due to work hardening from high stress, which increases strength and makes the surface roughness smoother than that of ground ball screws. Additionally, a notable feature of the FB series is the significant reduction in the manufacturing process for the screw shaft. In the case of ground ball screws, the manufacturing process for the screw shaft/screw section is extensive and proportional to its length. The FB series allows for efficient production by plastically processing the screw shaft in one pass. As a result, it achieves short delivery times and low prices, and also realizes high efficiency and energy savings compared to other processing methods, contributing to waste reduction by not generating chips.
